Scouts have multiple fundraising opportunities throughout the year, including spirit nights at local restaurants, a troop-wide fundraiser, and individual fundraising opportunities.

Fundraising Opportunities

Fall Yard Sale: Our troop-wide fundraiser takes place each fall as part of the Charter Colony Annual Yard Sale. All troop families participate by donating items and volunteering on the day of the sale.

Spring Camp Cards

Each spring, Scouts have the opportunity to sell Heart of Virginia Council Camp Cards as a personal fundraiser. Camp cards sell for $10 each, with $5 from every card sold credited to the Scout’s personal scout account. The remaining $5 supports the Heart of Virginia Council (HOVC).

In addition, our troop receives free advancement items for participating, making this a fundraiser that benefits Scouts, the troop, and the broader Scouting organization. We ask that each Scout aim to sell 5 cards.

The 2026 camp cards include several great deals, including a free car wash valued at $21.99. Scouts may return unsold cards at no penalty or charge, making this a risk-free fundraiser.

Spirit Nights

Throughout the year, the troop may host spirit nights at local restaurants and businesses. These events provide an easy way for families to support the troop while enjoying a meal or treat together.
